Old Time Fun Day!

The Wentzville Area Senior Services (WASSI), along with the Wentzville Parks and Recreation Department is planning a “Fun Day” for area Senior Citizens at Progress Park in Wentzville on August 13th beginning at 10:00am.

For the outdoor type, the morning will be spent playing washers, croquet, hill-billy golf and other games. For those that prefer the indoors, there will be rummy cube, cards, dominoes and other activities.

A complimentary lunch will be served at noon, followed by the showing of one of those beloved old time movies. Of course, no movie would be complete without freshly popped popcorn!

Although there is no charge for the day’s activities, those planning to attend are asked to make reservations for planning purposes. Call today and make plans to spend a summer day having fun with friends!

Reservations—636-332-9236.

The Emergency Beacon Program

The City of Wentzville in partnership with the Wentzville Area Senior Services (WASSI) and Mid-East Area Agency on Aging (MEAAA) has collaborated to bring the residents of Wentzville the Emergency Beacon Program.

The Emergency Beacon Device turns an everyday porch or window light into a FLASHING BEACON to help Emergency Responders find your home when answering 911 calls. The time saved in finding the location of the emergency because of the BEACON, could be a lifesaver.

Emergency Beacon Devices will be provided FREE of charge to Wentzville Seniors (over 60), medically disabled and veterans through a start up grant provided by AT&T. Emergency Beacons may be picked up the last Tuesday of each month, between 10:30 and 11:30 am, at the Green Lantern Senior Center, 506 S Linn, Wentzville, 63385.
